Today I’m speaking with Jessica Barth. Jessica is an actress known for portraying Tammy Lynn McCafferty in the film TED and it’s sequel. She is also a writer, a mother, an activist, a friend and a fellow Harvey Weinstein survivor. She created the nonprofit VOICES IN ACTION which is a survivor-founded and reporting platform. It’s a place where survivors of sexual assault can document and time stamp incidents privately and receive alerts if someone else named the abuser. She has worked closely with Lou Godbold (ROAR’S go-to trauma specialist & guru) to make sure that everyone at VOICES IN ACTION is trauma informed.
After speaking with Jessica I realize there are still huge challenges in getting a sexual harassment charge filed. There’s so much work still to be done, but she is making an impact by changing the landscape for survivors of sexual violence everywhere.
